Meet Oscar.  He is 8 years old and weighs about 24 pounds - he could definitely stand to lose a few pounds.  He is 100% housetrained, but has had a few accidents since all of the SARDS stuff started.  All of those symptoms seem to be stabilizing.  He has seizures occasionally.  We've been to the vet about these a couple of times, but he has never needed medication.  I can't even remember the last time he had one (at least three months ago). You can see in the picture that he likes to lick his front paws, which causes that his hair to be a reddish color.  He walks well on a leash, which is good since he's blind - but he has walked on a leash for us since he was a puppy because we live on a busy highway and don't have a fenced in yard.  He's a little on the grouchy side and has been since he was about 2.  Unfortunately SARDS has made him even more grouchy, but that seems to be getting a little better also.  He doesn't like strangers who try to pet him without letting him warm up to them.  He really doesn't even like for us to pet him much now.  He acts like he just wants to be left alone.  I would not put him in a home with small children.  He still enjoys being somewhat of a lap dog.  He doesn't really want to be in your lap, but he likes sitting on the couch next to you.  However, he doesn't like it at all when/if you try to move him.  He'll let you know what he's feeling, that's for sure.  He is really a pretty dog when his hair is longer.  It has just gotten so hard to groom him that I decided to cut his hair super short so I wouldn't have to do it so often.  A professional groomer would be able to do a better job.  Oscar still has many good qualities, but I'm trying to be honest about his personality and medical stuff.

Contact  darrenandjulie@centurytel.net if you can give this boy a loving home.
