When we found Lily, she was very unhealthy. We took her in & she's healthy & is beautiful now. We have eight other animals (many that were rescues & need homes, too) & once we find a home for Lily, we will be able to find homes for the others.
Lily is a 1 1/2 year old pit bull. She's spayed, has had all of her shots, is heartworm negative & on heartworm prevention (we use Iverhart Max, which prevents heartworms, & controls roundworms, hookworms & tapeworms). When we found her near the end of July '09 at the plant my boyfriend & I work at, she was very malnourished & covered in mange. But Lily is a very healthy & happy dog now, as you can tell by the pictures. The first picture is Lily when we first brought her home. The others are her, later, when she recovered. She gets along well with our other dogs (even the small ones, but Lily's just too playful with them) & she walks VERY well on a leash. Lily seems to do well with children, as we came across a few on our walks. She loves people & is very happy to meet them. She is a very loving & trusting dog, so we are going to make sure that she gets a good home. We haven't kept her with our cats, so we don't know how Lily will react to cats. She has stayed outside since we brought her home (we have eight other animals so we couldn't keep her in the house), but we believe that she'll be house-trained very well. We love Lily very much, & if we could keep her, we would. But we live in the city limits & have too many pets as it is. The only reason we picked her up is because we couldn't leave her there to die. Our plan was to make her healthy & find her a home. We've spent over $500.00 on her to get her to this point. We are asking for only $50.00 for her adoption. A few people actually asked "what's wrong with her" because we are ONLY asking for $50.00. It's because we aren't looking to make a profit; we just want to find her a loving home. I think it's also because these people were looking to breed he & THEY sell the puppies for HUNDREDS of dollars. That's ONE of the reasons we got her spayed: LILY IS NOT A BREEDER. We know what happens to the dogs that are used for breeding. Once they can no longer produce puppies ($$ to the breeder), they are no longer needed. Lily will make a great pet--to the right person. Many want pits to fight or breed, so it's been very hard finding her a GOOD home. The other animals we found are also needing homes, but we must find a home for Lily, first.
We hope that you will contact us if you have any questions about Lily.
She is a smart dog & needs a home with lots of play-time & love.
