I
know she’s got a lot against her, you might say dogs like her are “a
dime a dozen”, but this girl deserves to finally have a loving home.
Her story is like so many others, discarded like trash on a country
road. Traveling down the road not even knowing where she was traveling
to. I spotted her and followed her for some distance waiting to see if
she would head for one of just a few houses in sight. She had no clue
where to go, only to follow the road as the snow blocked the way for
much else. Finally after getting close enough to see what condition she
was in, I picked her up. Every rib is showing. Her hip bones protruding,
her middle section sunk in like she hadn’t had much to eat for quite
sometime. She spent the rest of the weekend at the animal hospital,
finally a warm place to sleep and regular meals. She is now updated on
all her shots, has been wormed and is HW negative. The vet thinks
she’s about 7 years old. A kind lady I know volunteered to keep this
girl for a short time, but that time is ending soon. I have named her
Lilly for now. Lilly is great with the 7 year old boy she is staying
with, ignores the cats completely, is fine with the other dogs. Right
now staying with 2 Goldies, 2 Beagles and a Border collie. She gets a
little annoyed when the Beagles keep kissing her in the face and growls
to let them know its time to stop. She seems pretty much housebroken
although she may have never lived in a house. Sleeps along side the bed
at night and is very quiet mellow girl. What a terrific companion she
would make for anyone. She looks to be a mix of Lab/Beagle. She is 30
lbs. Her legs are short; she is maybe knee high about the size of a
large Cocker Spaniel. Please help me find this poor girl a loving home
or foster home. She is in Wytheville K9castle@nrvunwired.com
Her face says it all. Please help me help Lilly.
