Meet Weebit age 13 and Romeo age 9 !!! They have been together since they were puppies and here is their story.  They were with an older couple all of their life and was the  husband's friend and companion.  The husband was in bad health and died.  The wife which I have learn was his second wife, dumped these two in a kill shelter as soon as her husband was gone.  Because of their age, no one wanted them.  They could not even find a Shih Tzu rescue to take them.  They sat in a shelter for about a month before Alabama Animal Rescue came to their rescue. They were groomed by some wonderful volunteers and were taken to the vet.  They were neutered and are now up to date on all shots.  They both are in good health.  Weebit has a cataract on one eye but this does not stop him from seeing.  Romeo has dry eyes which is typical for a lot of older dogs that have large eyes.  He  may have to have tear drops in his eyes daily for the rest of his life but we are trying a medication which may reverse his problem and get his tear ducks to work.  They both love to lay in your lap and sleep.  Weebit is devoted to Romeo and will not let him out of his site. They sleep wrapped around each other.  They must stay together.  They are both active but do love to sleep a lot. Romeo loves to play with squeaky toys. They would be perfect for someone who wants companionship and something to love and nurture. Because of their age, they will not be put into a home with small children under the age of 12 years old.  A home with a fence yard is required.
