This is Wally. He was found at the local Wal-Mart.  He appears to be a Golden/Collie mix. Wally is a very sweet "senior" dog that needs a good home to live out his life in the style in which he would love to become accustomed! Wally does have heartworms, but the rescue person cannot afford to treat him, or keep him for the time required for the treatment - at least 3 months. He is currently on Heatgard heartworm preventative.  It will slowly kill the heartworms.  He is also not neutered. The vet said he could be neutered after he has gotten a little healthier and put on some weight. Wally only weighed 32 pounds when rescued (even though he looks much larger because of his beautiful fur). He is rather skinny under all that hair. Wally has some arthritis and sometimes has difficulty moving quickly. He does great when he has to stay in the crate. He is fairly housetrained. He is very easy-going and mild-mannered. He gets along great with other dogs. Wally's rescuer does not have the space nor the financial resources to keep him. He is such a sweet dog and so beautiful that she did not want him to go to a shelter when he was picked up by animal control. If you can provide a home (and possible heartworm treatment - can discuss), please call Nina about this sweet senior boy.  chalkitup@bellsouth.net
